The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, which comes from sandy soils outside the village itself, has a ripe, blackcurrant pastille-scented bouquet with touches of strawberry jam filtering through. The palate is succulent with juicy ripe tannin, not a complex village cru but you might describe as “full of stuffing." This is a gutsy Gevrey-Chambertin, a bit coarse, but with appreciable length.
