Description
Louis-Claude Desvignes Morgon La Voute Saint Vincent is a barrel-aged red wine made by Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes with the Gamay variety in the AOC Morgon (Burgundy).
These vines are over 70 years old and planted on sandstone soils. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
Once the grapes are selected, they are vinified using traditional winemaking methods. The grapes go through a semi-carbonic maceration in concrete tanks for 10 days. No oak is used and the wine is bottled with a light filtering.
It is a red wine that combines the freshness of brilliant acidity with the fullness of succulent fruit. It is a smooth red wine with an expressive bouquet of red fruits, blue flowers and a delicious mineral accent. On the palate it is juicy, penetrating and succulent. It reveals fine tannins, integrated acidity and a charming granite profile.
“The 2018 Morgon La Voute Saint Vincent bursts with aromas of cherries, blackberries, rose petals and licorice. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with fine structuring tannins and a pretty, charming profile that will ensure it numbers among the most immediate, head-turning renditions of this cuvée in recent years.”
