The wine is made from a blend of 90% Grenache Gris and 10% Macabeo sourced from 11 different parcels of pure schist with vines planted between 1919 and 2008. Vinification involves partial fermentation in concrete (60%) and oak (40%) vats and élevage in 228L and 500L old oak barrels for 9 months.
The very shallow schist (no clay) soils give Llum a crystalline, mineral-laced character.
