Description
Marsannay Rosé is very much set apart from the general perception of rosé wines. The Roty interpretations more than deserves their rather elevated status as serious wines – far too much gravitas for poolside quaffing but with rather impressive culinary acumen. Production is restrained and the grapes here are directly pressed – rather than using the saignée method – making for a structured style with potential to age.
Salmon in colour, this is once again a proper rosé, made with food pairing in mind, full bodied and age-worthy. The nose offers bright strawberries, so far so pretty but with a rather more avuncular background, limestone staking a claim. The palate is purposeful, maintaining intense fruit concentration.
